What Holm is for
- Invoices you can send, and a clear view of who has paid.
- Bank lines coded from your own history, with the source shown, for you to approve.
- A plain view of 31 January and 31 July, so payments on account are not a surprise. The planner on the accounting page is an illustration. [PH] rules register
- Digital records you will need if Making Tax Digital for Income Tax reaches you. Holm does not file it for you.
Got a letter from HMRC?
Start with good records. Quarterly updates are rolling out by income band. Holm’s checker on the accounting page explains the published bands. Treat the dates as a guide until they are checked against the signed rules register. [PH]
If you trade through a company, see limited companies. If you look after clients, see bookkeepers.
Straight answers.
Does Holm file my Self Assessment?
No. Holm keeps digital records and can show a plain estimate of payments on account. It does not file to HMRC, and it is not recognised for MTD Income Tax filing. [PH] HMRC status
When does Making Tax Digital for Income Tax apply?
It depends on qualifying income from self-employment and property, before expenses. The bands published by HMRC start over £50,000, over £30,000 and over £20,000. [PH] verify against the rules register before you rely on a date.
Can my bookkeeper work with me?
Yes. You do the first pass. They review with sources on every line. See the bookkeepers page.
